Cristiano Ronaldo‘s Al-Nassr side will take on visitors Al Fateh in their first Saudi Pro League game of 2024 a few hours away today, but have injury concerns regarding Ospina and Ghareeb.

The hosts are in second-place on the Roshn Saudi League table and will look to close the gap between first-placed Al-Hilal to four points, with a victory over seventh-placed Al Fateh today.

However, the road to victory looks a bit difficult for Al-Nassr as they will be without Colombian goalkeeper David Ospina and exciting Saudi youngster Abdul Rahman Ghareeb against Al Fateh due to injury.

Despite Al-Nassr pre-season form, injuries to Ghareeb and Ospina pose a major blow

Latest reports has confirmed that both David Ospina and Abdul Rahman Ghareeb won’t be featuring for Al-Nassr for some time, especially in a vital game like this due to injuries sustained.

Ghareeb picked up an injury in team training, with reports suggesting he will be out for about 3 weeks. This is a major blow to Al-Nassr particularly for Cristiano Ronaldo, who had been impressed by the youngster’s goal for Saudi Arabia in the just concluded AFC Asian Cup competition.

Ospina on the other hand, continues to struggle with injuries ever since his move to the Middle East. Injuries have plagued his time at the club with an elbow injury previously keeping him on the sidelines for almost a year. Thus, his current injury is a bad blow considering the absence of homegrown goalkeeper Nawaf Al-Aqidi.

Cristiano Ronaldo unfazed despite recent off-field incident surrounding partner Georgina

Amid the on-field problems rocking Al-Nassr in respect to injuries to key players, Cristiano Ronaldo had yet another recent incident overshadowing him and partner Georgina Rodriguez; but he remains unfazed.

The Portugal captain had his 39th birthday family photo with Georgina and their kids, edited in a controversial way by an Iranian newspaper recently.

The newspaper had reportedly edited out the curvy bum of Georgina Rodriguez in the original Instagram photo, and instead published a modified one where the supermodel’s bum was flattened out, signalling an obvious disrespect of Ronaldo and his partner.

However, despite that unfortunate incident, CR7 appeared to pay no attention to it and is instead focusing on playing soccer. He told the media recently when quizzed if Al-Nassr will be successful in their targets, “We will be able to achieve what we want.
