Jesus Areso scores outrageous Osasuna goal

Osasuna star Jesus Areso scored a completely outrageous goal from a tight corner angle in their La Liga match on Sunday vs Getafe CF.

The home team, Osasuna, were 12th in La Liga with 22 points from their opening 19 matches and were looking to secure their second successive win in the league.

How was the goal scored?

With both teams were locked at 2-2 in the game, Osasuna’s Jesús Areso ran down the right flank towards the corner flag and came under pressure from Getafe’s Jordi Martín.

While trying to break out, Areso fired a outrageous volley that went over the head of Getafe goalkeeper David Soria and into the far corner of the net.

The goal, which was likely to have been intended as a cross to his teammates in the 18-yard box, sent the Osasuna fans into wild celebrations.

“What in the world was that? Jesus Arseso just made the impossible look routine. It’s goal of the year worthy. It might not have been on purpose but it sure does not matter”, the commentator said.

The goal by Jesus Areso eventually turned out to be the winner, with Osasuna going on to win 3-2 to close the gap between them and Getafe to just a point.
